Meet Tony Micciche

Incumbent Monroe County Legislator Tony Micciche proudly represents the 26th Legislative District which includes portions of the Towns of Gates, Greece and the City of Rochester, including the Charlotte and Maplewood Neighborhoods.

Tony was first elected to a four year term in November 2011 and was sworn into office on January 3, 2012.  He is running for re-election this year.  Tony has served as the Chairman of the Intergovernmental Relations Committee and the Public Safety Committee.

Tony, a lifetime resident of Monroe County, entered the foster care system at the age of eight years old and left it at the age of fourteen when he rented a room from a local family.  He paid for his room by working 40 hours a week at Charlotte's LDR Char Pit, while he attended Charlotte High School.  After graduation, Tony accepted a job with General Motors, where he worked for 25 years.  Tony also has his real estate license and has been making investments in the City of Rochester since 1986.  Over the years, Tony has owned 27 properties assisting Rochester residents in finding adequate housing.

Tony has worked tirelessly in support of children like Brook Stagles and as a proud union member for 43 years, I have been a strong advocate for members of S.O.A.R. (Deputy Sheriff's Union). Some of Tony’s accomplishments include:

  • Jessica's Law Resolution to protect children from sexual predators

  • Zombie Property Law (2015)

  • Co-wrote Resolution for Brook Stagles with fellow Monroe County Legislator Justin Wilcox

  • Wrote Prescription Drop Off Resolution

  • Created mentoring programs, later renamed Ladders-Up

  • Involved in the Anti-Poverty Initiative

  • Funded Rochester Works, Helmets to Hard Hats, Greater Rochester Enterprise and other organizations.

Tony has served as a board director of 911, Beach and Parks, Action for a Better Community, Lighthouse Committee and many others.

He is a member of numerous clubs such as Rotary International, Chamber of Commerce, Charlotte Community Association, Maplewood Association as well as many other organizations.

Tony has received the Pelletier Award for Government from Cornell University through the New York State Association of Counties, of which he is a member.

Tony is an extremely active member of our community.  He is a member of the Masons, the Elks Lodge, Local 509 IUE, the Italian American Sports Club and the Greece Chamber of Commerce.  His is also an Honorary Member o f the Korean War Veterans, Chapter 1.

Tony resides at 100 Dunsmere Drive in the City of Rochester.  He is a parishioner at Holy Cross Church.
